2011 Contemplating Governing: Registration Now Open

What is it like to serve in local office? Register today for Contemplating Governing to help you decide if local government service is right for you. This three-part program provides citizens the chance to consider the opportunities, challenges, requirements and reasons to serve in local elected office. This program will be held in Allegheny, Butler and Westmoreland Counties beginning in January 2011.

2010 Mylan Classic: Ticket Purchase Can Benefit Lynch Scholarship Fund

This year, the Mylan Classic is donating 100% of all ticket sales to participating regional charities and the Local Government Academy is on the list of non-profit organizations that can benefit from ticket sales at this event. Golf lovers have helped the Michael P. Lynch Scholarhsip Fund Outing sell out each of the past 3 years! Here is another way for your love of the game to support LGA's efforts to provide the Newly Elected Officials Course and other programs to communities with financial difficulties.

The Allegheny Forum has been developed to provide public officials with opinions and ideas from citizens on improved efficiencies and cost-effectiveness among Allegheny County's 130 local municipalities, including the City of Pittsburgh.
