2002 marked the first year of the Academy's Multi-Municipal Planning Grant Program, which is supported by the Heinz Endowments. The program is designed to encourage local governments to take advantage of the tools provided in state law to prepare and implement good planning.

The success of the program has resulted in the Academy's plans to continue the program through 2008.  Municipalities may contact LGA for further details.
