We will cover the political structure and nuts and bolts of campaigning. You will understand what it takes to run for office, including the reporting requirements, timelines, and how to identify your support network.

Run for Office: Know Campaign Finance Rules

You must follow the rules when raising money for your campaign. This session will discuss contribution limits, endorsements, and Independent Expenditure Disclosure Requirements.

Run for Office: Build Your Base

Virtual

In the age of COVID-19, you need all of the tools available to reach your core constituency and build your campaign. This session will cover aspects of both traditional and non-traditional campaign outreach, including: how to use social media appropriately and effectively, the importance of email lists, and protocols for accepting online donations.

Run for Office: Refine Your Message

Our final session will help you refine your message and deliver it effectively. In the end, you will have the tools to speak to your platform, explain why you are running, and deliver consistent messaging around the issues you want to address.

Municipal Intern Fair
