From Your Executive Director: It’s Time to Run for Office!
Just like everything else in 2020, the Presidential Election broke records. While ballots are still being counted and results are trickling in, it’s already time for us to think about how to Run for Office in 2021.
Just one year from now, the municipal election cycle will usher in a new slate of elected officials. In a few months, prospective candidates will begin filing the required paperwork to declare their candidacy for local office. If you are a prospective candidate or want to learn more about local government and the political process, sign up for Run for Office, a non-partisan, educational webinar series.
Each year, we encourage people to do their civic duty and vote. This year, after participating in the democratic process to select our state and federal leaders, keep in mind that it is our local council members, commissioners, and supervisors who are responsible for delivering essential services that we rely on every day.
Let’s thank the many officials who exemplify excellence in local government for their selfless dedication to the greater good. As the results come in for the 2020 presidential election, think about if YOU want to do more for 2021 – if you want to Run for Office.
