From the Executive Director: Making a Splash with Local Government Academy!
Local Government Academy is making a splash with these upcoming events!
First up, our Municipal Intern Program has officially begun! All the interns have been assigned and have begun working with their municipalities/COGs. Our own Faith Turamye shares her experience of beginning as an intern, and how that prepared her for her current role.
Additionally, we have officially opened registration for our Annual Promoting Excellence Golf Outing! This year’s green is the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course on August 14th. We are very excited to get back out there and raise money for the Michael Lynch Scholarship Fund that helps ensure the Academy has the resources to provide non-partisan education to public officials and staff, regardless of ability to pay.
Save the Date for our Newly Elected Officials Course (NEOC)! This year, we are excited to announce the start date of December 6th, 2025. Registration will open in November. The NEOC is the most comprehensive training program offered to local government officials – it covers the basics, elevates best practices, and builds relationships. We can’t wait to see you there!
